Anticipation

Dear Gang:

We're looking forward to your scripts tomorrow. I trust you have reviewed Skye's helpful links that provide the 2-column script formatting. Please use this format for your scripts. See you in the morning!

Brand Essence

David and Matt (especially David),

You'll want to read up about "brand essence". Essentially, the brand's essence is its distilled personality; its voice. I recommend reading these, they'll illuminate some questions you'll want to answer in your scripts:

http://www.brand-architects.co.uk/corporate_branding/brand_essence.htm
http://www.yastrow.com/brandcafe/archive/110801_brand_essence.asp

Also, read the "Concepts" section here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brand#Concepts

I'd suggest floating some ideas about the Bean TV brand on the blog here and giving the group and opportunity to respond.

Two Column Video Script

For those of you developing a script for Wednesday, it should be formatted using the industry-standard two-column video script. Read these pages to learn about how to make a two-column video script:

Ahoy!

Class,

We'll be using this blog as a means to communicate about your motion seminar projects. You are required to subscribe to this blog [instructions on how to subscribe using Safari]. Subscribing will allow you to passively discover when new material has been posted rather than periodically going to check if there's anything new. (For those who aren't familiar, the ability to subscribe to a content feed is what differentiates a blog from a regular website).

You've been sent an email inviting you to create an account. Do that, it will allow you to post comments on posts.

We'll be posting comments and resources. We'll be looking for you to post ideas, scripts, and comments for your peers.

We'll see you (beat, beat) online.

- Skye and Doug
